Outgoing Rotary President passes gavel

Outgoing New Bremen-New Knoxville Rotary President Steve Hartwig passes the official gavel to President Sandy Thieman at the regular club meeting on Tuesday June 29, 2010 .  Thieman will preside at club meetings for the next twelve months.

The club is very active in the community, sponsoring events such as the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting in New Bremen, Career Day at New Bremen and New Knoxville High Schools , the Annual Rotary Auction, and their Annual Blood Screening events.  The club donates dictionaries each year to New Knoxville and New Bremen third-graders, and provides annual scholarships for college bound graduating seniors in New Knoxville and New Bremen.  Recent Rotary projects include the new Rotary Centennial Park at the intersection of State Route 66 and State Route 274 in New Bremen, and the Rotary Sunshine Project.  The Rotary Sunshine Project helps to connect special needs children with the equipment, supplies and support they need.  Visit www.rotarysunshineproject.org for more information about the project.
