Outgoing New Bremen-New Knoxville Rotary President Steve
Hartwig passes the official gavel to President Sandy Thieman at the regular
club meeting on
Tuesday June 29, 2010
. Thieman will preside at club
meetings for the next twelve months.
The club is very active in the community, sponsoring
events such as the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting in New Bremen, Career Day at
New Bremen and
New
Knoxville
High Schools
, the Annual Rotary Auction, and their Annual Blood Screening events.
The club donates dictionaries each year to New Knoxville and New Bremen
third-graders, and provides annual scholarships for college bound graduating
seniors in New Knoxville and New Bremen. Recent
Rotary projects include the new
Rotary
Centennial
Park
at the intersection of State Route 66 and State Route 274 in New Bremen, and
the Rotary Sunshine Project. The
Rotary Sunshine Project helps to connect special needs children with the
equipment, supplies and support they need.
