Creative Problem Solving - Curtis Tenney
Curtis Tenney, retired USAF computer engineer and finance officer and recently hired women's volleyball coach and adjunct professor for Wright State University Lake Campus addressed the club about creative problem solving as it applies to financial investing.
He encouraged the audience to think what most people are not willing to think since successful people are willing the do what the unsuccessful people are not willing to do. It boils down to not accepting mediocrity. He also shared about the efficient market hypothesis and how it can guide investment strategies.
Specific ideas he presented for investing included 1). Investing in Education for self, children and grandchildren, 2). Participating in Employee Matching Retirement programs, 3). Pay off consumer debt, 4). Buy your own home, 5). Pay off mortgages, 6). Stop spending on consumables that drain finances [alcohol, tobacco, drugs] and 7). Spend time and money on family.
Curtis recently moved to the area from California with his wife of 25 years Robbie and they have 6 children, 3 of which are in college.
