Luci B Ken - St Marys Other Newspaper

Editor and Publisher Richard Kellermeyer and Brian Morris addressed the club about St Marys other newspaper, called the Luci B Ken.  They shared that the name is a take off on the saying 'Enlightenment Through Knowledge' [ie: Luci >>Lucid; B >> Beacon; Ken >> Knowledge].  

The first edition of the paper was published on December 10th and the latest issue, the 18th, was distributed on April 1st.  It is a once weekly paper that is delivered between the hours of 5 pm on Saturday and 9 am on Sunday.  It has a total circulation of 7000 with 6000 being delivered to residences and the other 1000 to various businesses and establishments in the St Marys area.  The delivery area is within a 7 mile radius of St Marys.  The publication is free but can be received for a modest fee by mail.

Richard and Brian shared that they wish to focus the content in the paper on family type stories with humor an twists that otherwise may be overlooked.  They intentionally focus coverage on the St Marys area and do not expect to expand coverage beyond the town.

Brian brings newspaper experience to the venture and Richard has a diverse background in various areas including bartending and being a chef and he shared that he likes writing about history.
