Anne Harvey - New Bremen Schools Superintendent
Anne Harvey, recently appointed New Bremen School Superintendent, addressed the club and shared her views about her new position in the community. Anne is a graduate of Miami University, did her graduate work at the University of Dayton, and attended Ashland University for additional education. She recently moved to the New Bremen area with her husband Bill and they have 3 adult daughters.
Anne shared about her respect for the accomplishments in New Bremen Schools and reflected on the 06-07 theme Commitment to Excellence to increase student achievement. In coming to the job here, she brings experience in working with local business and industry in Van Wert County while serving as principal.
She shared how she is energized by the enthusiasm of the staff at the schools and plans to be a visible force in the schools on an ongoing basis by visiting classrooms the cafeteria and by attending extra curricular activities. Her mission is to inspire, support and continue to develop our exemplary school system. This provides various levels of challenge to keep the instruction fresh and relevant and to provide a collaborative approach to decision making. She indicated that she welcomes constructive proposals along with justification for the proposals. Additional challenges include increasing accountability, maintaining excellent performance in the midst of ever increasing standards and to instill a love for learning across a lifetime.
She closed by sharing that she is honored to be in New Bremen and to have the opportunity to work in our schools. With strong families being the best predictor of students success, New Bremen has a lot going for it as she steps up to the challenges of her new position.
