Topic: The Cancer Network of West Central Ohio Presenter: John Koenig - Administrative Director The West Central Ohio Regional Healthcare Association (WCORHA) is comprised of hospitals in the West Central Ohio Region including Coldwater, St. Marys, Bellfountaine, St. Ritas and Van Wert. WCORHA offers various services to cancer patients including Call A Nurse, lab services and logistics services to accommodate patients needs for local care. As a member of WCORHA, the Cancer Network of West Central Ohio was founded in 2001 as a non-profit organization to provide patients and their families with treatment options and coordination of care in the region. The Cancer Network has facilities in Celina and Bellfountaine and bridges the gap for care between local providers and those in Ft. Wayne, Lima, Columbus and Dayton. It provides resources for radiation therapy and chemotherapy at both facilities and is plans to provide lab services in the future. The Network also has patient Navigators or advocates who assist patients in their search for treatment options as needed. The Celina facility, which opened February 16, 2004, is a 24,000 square foot facility and includes 2 oncology suites and specialty clinic suites. John Koenig is a 1987 graduate of Memorial High School in St Marys. He holds a BA in Radiation Therapy and Allied Health Administration from National College of Education in Evanston, Illinois and MS in Management from National Louis University in Wheeling, Illinois. He has worked in a number of hospital and clinical settings as a radiation therapist and department supervisor, and has overseen the construction of more than one cancer center. John joined CNWCO in November 2002 to oversee the construction and operations of their treatment facilities.
