George Rakes is the assistant director of Food Protein research with the Central Soya Company located out of Fort Wayne Ind.
George gave a short presentation of the new product  being produced in the New Bremen Central Soya plant (used to be the old UDF creamery).  This is a product called Alpha 5800 which is a high solubility / low flavor soy protein to be used in beverage and  cultured products.  Alpha 5800 is a very new product which is only being produced in New Bremen.

George went on to say that Alpha 5800 is a very high quality protein which is capable of carry the Health Benefits claim.  What is meant by this is that you get all the benefits of protein without all the bad traits you get from a protein source such as red meat which would be fat.  George went on to claim that a diet rich in soy protein has been known to lower cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of heart disease.
